Mission: To continue the work of Wanda Calderon, Mercer Island High School's well-loved registrar. Wanda Calderon brightened the Counseling Office for more than 10 years until she lost the battle to stomach cancer in December of 2007. She is remembered for her dedication to helping students and eagerness to solve problems with personal attention and care. She truly loved the students of Mercer Island High School.

Together with the Counselors at the school, she saw that many kids did not have the resources to round out, enhance or simply complete their high school experience. They might need a calculator, a pair of sneakers, an ASB card, or the money to participate in sports. Their families could not afford or might not care about these important expenses. For years Wanda and the Counselors paid for these and a variety of other things using insufficient foundation funds and their own money to cover the difference.

Wanda's Wallet strives to continue her generous legacy by filling this need. We want to her love and generosity for the kids to live on. Wanda will continue to make an immediate and positive difference at a fundamental level through your generosity and her spirit. Working with Mercer Island Youth and Family Services, Wanda's Wallet's 501-C-3 status means years and years of future funding through deductible contributions.

Thank you for your support and help in keeping Wanda's memory alive.
